Bleu ciel funeral home

Obituary Notice

Mr. Réjean Poirier

On December 23, 2020, Réjean Poirier passed away, leaving behind him a huge void, despite his legendary discretion.

He is survived by the 3 wives of his life: Margaret, Pascale (Daniel) and Marion (Thomas), as well as his six grandchildren Miguel, Santa, Olivier, Charlie, Max and Laurent, and his brothers and sisters Marcelle, Hélène, Gilles, Estelle, Léo and Jean-Jules.

Réjean also leaves musicians and music lovers in mourning – both in Québec and abroad. A leading figure in early music in Montreal, he will be remembered for his contribution to the music world. Co-founder of the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal and vice-dean, then dean, of the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music, this great man left no one indifferent in his wake. Generous, sensitive and gentle, everyone will remember his sensitivity and kindness… Not to mention his intelligence and refreshing sense of humour.

M. Poirier, Rej, Dérange, Gros-(et Trop)-Papa, petit papounet d’amour… As Olivier would say: you’ll always be in our hearts.

Under the circumstances, no ceremony is planned. Those who wish may make a donation to an arts organization of their choice in tribute to Réjean.

Mr. Réjean Poirier

1950-2020
